Elementary School Honoree – Eleanor Baker-Edmonds (1st Grade)
Eleanor is a pleasure to have in class. She comes in every morning with smile and “good morning”. She always gives her very best with her academic work and enjoys helping others in her class. Eleanor is a good friend to everyone with her kind and sweet spirit. Her positive attitude is contagious as she strives to make every day a good day.
Getting to know Eleanor:
- What is your favorite part of the year?
“I would say fall. My birthday is in the fall, and so is Halloween. And, I get to make leaf piles and jump in them. Also, sometimes my grandparents come to visit.”
- You are stuck on a deserted island for a month with only the necessities outside of one item of choice. What item are you choosing?
“Books. I like to read, and I like looking at the pictures in the books and thinking
about what’s going to happen next. They would help me pass the time.”
- If you could be principal for a day at University School, what are you doing first?
“I would check on the classes and if they needed any help I’d find a solution. I like helping people feel better and work things out so that’s what I would do as principal.”
“Eleanor shows up for class excited to start her day,” pointed out University School staff member Mrs. Heather Poston. “She is always ready for the lesson and enjoys a good challenge. She is very detailed in everything she does, especially when sharing a story. Eleanor is a delight to be around and I have enjoyed getting to know her this year.”
