Elementary School Honoree – Elijah Trivette (1st Grade)

Elijah is an absolute joy to have in class! He is always willing to help a friend, and is open to any new challenge thrown his way. Elijah loves his family and Dollywood, and always has a story to share with the class about the two. He loves to learn, and his enthusiasm bubbles over to his peers and fellow scholars. Elijah is kind, respectful, and truly cares for the wellbeing and success of his classmates.

Getting to know Elijah:

  • What is a special talent you possess that most people don't know about?

“Riding big roller coasters that are 100 feet off the ground.  I have ridden a 100’-drop roller coaster – the Thunderhead at Dollywood.  It was terrifying the first time, but now it’s the funnest thing in the universe!”

  • What quality do you think is most important in a great teacher?

“To be a great teacher, a person has to go to college to learn math and ELA, and all the other stuff they need to teach their students. They also need to be nice and helpful.”

  • What is something you've accomplished that you are particularly proud of?

“Overcoming my fear of terrifyingly high roller coasters like the Firechaser. It shoots you out backwards!  Now it’s the best thing.  I like speed so it’s a lot of fun for me!

“"I know I can always count on Elijah to greet me with a smile and a 'Good morning! I'm here!'" says Mrs. Jeffers, Elijah’s 1st-grade teacher. "He is always excited about class activities, and greets new adventures with enthusiasm. Elijah's laughter and joy is contagious; he is an absolute joy!"
