University Elementary School Student Spotlight - January 30, 2023

Elementary School Honoree – Virgil Taylor (3rd Grade)

Virgil is very creative and interacts with the world in such an interesting way. I enjoy watching how his artwork unfolds and hearing about his thought process. He is also very thoughtful with his classmates. On several occasions I have seen Virgil offering comfort to his classmates. Virgil is an exceptional learner. He loves to learn new things and often is motivated to research and learn things that interest him independently. His love of learning spreads to others. Virgil is especially interested in science and math. Virgil is also very kind to others. He has developed new friendships this year that have helped others feel welcomed and included.

Getting to know Virgil:

  • Do you have a secret talent?

“I can play basketball.  I play at my house a lot.”

  • What's the one item you can't live without?

“My mom’s laptop.  I use it often to play video games like Minecraft and Crazy Games.”

  • What teacher has made the greatest impact on you as a student?

“Mrs. Noel. I liked being in her first grade class because she’s nice.”

“Virgil has a great sense of humor and a great love of learning. His love of learning new things helps our classroom be a place of enthusiastic learning for everyone,” commented Dr. Kelli, Virgil’s 3rd-grade teacher.
