Elementary School Honoree – Maddie VanZant
Maddie is a great student due to her focus, determination, and listening abilities among other skills. Maddie can be trusted to do the right thing and she always works hard in class by following all directions. Maddie is kind, patient, and loves learning! She goes above and beyond to complete her work to the best of her abilities everyday.
Getting to know Maddie:
- What do you like to do for fun/relaxation?
“I love to read! I like Wings of Fire and Guardians of Ga’Hoole; pretty much anything that's a chapter book.”
- What are three things you would not want to live without?
“Three things I would not want to live without is Bushy, a Beanie Boo Lion. I also couldn't live without my books and my family, of course.”
- What advice would you give a new student about University School?
“I would tell them where things are like the lunchroom, classroom, etc. I would also share with them the schedule for the day and let them know what kind of things we are learning.”
“Maddie's curiosity and love for learning is inspiring,” commented Ms. Paiton Chambers, Maddie’s 4th-grade teacher. “She dives deep into learning and always puts her best effort into everything she does. She is often found reading or researching something in her free time. Her already accumulated knowledge and determination to learn will impress anyone who gets to know her!”
