High School Honoree – Ethan Quillen (HS Freshman)
Ethan is new to UH this year, but you would never know it. He has jumped right in the mix with classmates and is a positive influence on them. His energy and motivation in French are so strong, and he always pushes himself to learn more and speak more, even at the French 1 level.
Getting to know Ethan:
- Do you have a secret talent?
“I’m ‘OKish’ at paintball. I play airsoft and paintball. Once I was playing at GSF (Airsoft Shop and Play Field in in Piney Flats) and I made a team rage-quit!”
- What's the one item you can't live without?
“Hmmm...probably books. I love to read. I probably read a novel-a-week.”
- What teacher has made the greatest impact on you as a student?
“I would probably say Madam Dines, my French teacher here (University School). She got me into learning languages.”
“Ethan is curious and engaged in French class, putting forth his best effort to speak and understand the language,” stated Madam Dines, Ethan’s French teacher. “He is a pleasure to have in class and challenges me to be a better teacher.”
