High School Honoree – Abigail Murray (HS Junior)

Abigail is kind and respectful, but is willing to speak up for what she knows is right and just. She is happy to help when she can. Just recently, after I mentioned I'd like to be able to make my own digital escape room activities, she spent hours creating one to show me how I can make my own, and spent a half hour going over how she did it.

Getting to know Abigail:

  • What is the most unusual thing that happened in your classroom this year?

“In Spanish class, Senior Smith will sometimes have food days.  Everyone brings in food and the students can try different kinds of foods.  Everyone seems to enjoy that.  One time I brought in chicken and rice.  I got lots of complements on that dish.”

  • If you could invite a famous person to dinner at your house, who would you invite?

“Tom Holland.  I’m a big Spiderman fan, and I think Tom Holland did a good job with that character in the Spiderman movies.  He seems funny too.”

  • Where would you choose to go on vacation this summer if money were no object?

“I think I’d go to Japan.  I’d like to see their culture and experience different things, just to try different types of food and how their system works compared to the US.  Obviously, there are a lot of differences there.  I think it would be very interesting.”

“Abigail is a quiet force,” says Mrs. Sims, Abigail’s Geometry teacher. “Whenever she answers a question or gives her opinion, you can bet that her response is well thought out and in line with her values. I can always trust her to be honest and thoughtful.
