Middle School Honoree – Mya Margotta (8th Grade)

Mya is a hard worker. She strives for nothing but excellence on everything she accomplishes. She is motivated, strong-willed, and a team player. Mya does her best to understand the content, and she is quick to ask questions when she doesn't!

Getting to know Mya:

  • What is your favorite game to play?

“I like Uno because it’s fun, but it also can be intense sometimes.  There’s a little bit of strategy involved, but not too much.  Some of the game is up to chance.  You have to play with the cards your dealt.  It’s my favorite card game.”

  • If money were no object, what gift would you purchase for a family member?

“If money was no object, I would buy my brother a full gaming setup.  I’d also build him another room attached to the house so he could play there and not bother anyone else with his screaming!”

  • What brings you the most joy?  What annoys you the most?

“Making good grades bring me a lot of joy.  Reading does as well.  I like fiction.  It’s cool to read about characters and their stories, and how they develop and interact with other characters. It’s annoying when I’m in a disagreement with someone and they won’t admit they are wrong, even if I can prove it.”

"Mya loves helping her classmates understand the content,” pointed out Ms. Leah Darnell, Mya’s ELA teacher.
