Middle School Honoree – Lyla Sayers
Lyla is a fantastic person and a hard-working student. Her sweet and fun nature shines through her bubbly personality. She is the first to volunteer and never shies away from offering to help someone else. We have talked about having a 'Growth Mindset' and showing GRIT in 6th grade...Lyla is doing that! She is always trying to do better and looks for ways to improve. Her attitude is one of determination and resilience.

- What is your favorite hobby outside of school?
“Playing volleyball. It’s very fun and I enjoy playing. I love practicing with my friends and family.”
- What is something most people don’t know about you that you’d like them to know?
“I love to dance in my room. I started learning dances on TikTok. I joined the middle school dance team and it’s so much fun!”
- As you look back over your time at University school, what is something that you are appreciative of?
“Learning new stuff and having amazing teachers! I have enjoyed my time here. I love University School!”
“Lyla is full of GRIT - She sets goals and works toward those with intention,” pointed out Mrs. Jennifer Ledbetter, Lyla’s 6th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher. “She is willing to do the work! Not to mention, her attitude of kindness and joy light up the room."
