University Middle School Student Spotlight - February 20, 2023

Middle School Honoree – Max Moore (6th Grade)

Max is a standout!! Max takes school seriously, but still has fun. His kindness, though, is what stands out the most. I have seen him show patience with helping others as well as acting as a leader for a small group. His work ethic is also very strong. All of these traits combined have made Max a more than obvious choice for Student Spotlight!

Getting to know Max:

  • What is your favorite part of the year?

“This year, I’d say when I got selected for the soccer team.  I love soccer!  It’s my favorite sport.  I’ve been playing for two years at Quest.  When I was selected for the team I was very happy!”

  • You are stuck on a deserted island for a month with only the necessities outside of one item of choice. What item are you choosing?

“I would choose to have a boat!  Then I could leave (ha ha). If I was there by myself I’d be bored and lonely so if I had the boat I could come home.”

  • If you could be principal for a day at University School, what are you doing first?

“I’d make middle school have recess.  We had it last year in 5th (grade), and last year 6th-grade had recess.  I don’t know why we don’t get recess this year, but that’s the first thing I’d change.”

“Max exemplifies excellence in his attitude, academics and most importantly in his role as a good citizen in 6th grade," according to Mrs. Ledbetter, his 6th-grade teacher. "Unfortunately, I cannot clone him...but if I could - we would have a population explosion! Max is kind, compassionate, smart and funny. I can't wait to see all that he will accomplish."
