Middle School Honoree – Nick Carter  (8th Grade)

Nick has a kind disposition and is easy to get along with. He always has a smile on his face and treats others well.  He is kind, compassionate, and is well-mannered.  He is a role model for other students.

Getting to know Nick:

  • What is the most unusual thing that happened in your classroom this year?

“I’d say just recently, when I was injured in a baseball game and had to get stitches on my knee.  All the teachers wanted to see the wound and the stitches.  I wouldn’t think they’d want to see that but they did.”

  • If you could invite a famous person to dinner at your house, who would you invite?

“Sidney Crosby.  He’s a hockey player for the Pittsburgh Penguins. I’m a hockey fan, and Pittsburgh is my favorite team.  I’ve always admired Crosby for his work ethic.  He’s won 2-3 Stanley Cup championships and he’s the captain of the team.”

  • Where would you choose to go on vacation this summer if money were no object?

“I’d probably pick Outer Banks or maybe Key West.  The Outer Banks is an island off the coast of North Carolina.  When I went there before it wasn’t crowded and I really enjoyed my trip there, fishing and seeing wild animals.  I’d like to go back.”

“Nick has a great eye for detail that makes him an excellent artist!” commented Ms. Kristin Colson, Nick’s Art teacher. “Nick is positive and hardworking. He interacts well with all of his peers, and he's willing to serve others.”
