Middle School Honoree – Branwen Westover

Branwen is the right mix of studious and lively and serious and fun. She works hard and is very focused in class. She offers great insights during our discussions. I appreciate that she is also helpful to classmates. I have asked her more than once to offer peer support to another learner, and she is very gracious and helpful, which is not always easy! Branwen is also very creative and is in the school musical. She is doing very well balancing the demands of play schedules and schoolwork. Her fun personality shines through in classwork and in activities done in the classroom. She is definitely a bright spot in our group.

Getting to know Branwen:

  • Which emoji best represents you?

“Probably the smirking emoji.  My friends know that is the emoji I use most often.  I think its funny.”

  • What is one short-term & one long-term goal you are working towards?

“A short-term goal that I am currently working on is improving my skills in art.  I really enjoy drawing and painting.  For long-term, I want to be successful.  That means getting a good job that can support me and also that I enjoy.”

  • What are you grateful for currently in your life?

“I am grateful for the support and love of my family and friends.”

“Branwen is a joy to teach,” said Mrs. Jennifer Ledbetter, Branwen’s Social Studies and ELA teacher. “She is engaged and excited to learn. Her laugh is infectious as well."
