Ms. Mary Myron receives Outstanding Faculty Award

Myron Outstanding Faculty Award

Congratulations to Ms. Mary Myron, recipient of the University School Outstanding Faculty Award!

During the annual Clemmer College of Education Honors Day Ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in  the Carnegie Hotel Grand Soldiers Ballroom, Ms. Myron was recognized and presented with the Outstanding Faculty Award. (Ms. Mary is pictured left with Dr. Terence Hicks, Dean, Clemmer College of Education)

Ms. Mary has been the Kindergarten Instructor for University School for the past 20 years.  She has served our school and her special K-kids with development and implementation of curriculum and instruction in Kindergarten classroom, mentoring of approximately 50 College of Education students and student teachers each year, research and presentation of work at local, regional and national conferences, and has also served as an Adjunct Faculty member for East Tennessee State University College of Education.

K-kids, past and present, love Ms. Mary.  Her patience extends beyond reasonable expectations as she instructs students, often telling them that they are "Simply Marvelous!".  University School parents claim total satisfaction that their children receive such a strong foundation during this early season of life that prepares the students so well to face the academic and social challenges encountered in the future.

Student teacher candidates benefit greatly and are very appreciative of Ms. Mary's willingness to share her expertise and knowledge of best classroom practices.

We are so very proud to call Ms. Mary one of our own special Bucs.  Congratulations, Ms. Mary on the recognition of being "outstanding".  We knew it all along!
