"iCollaborate or Not" Published: In academic year 2016-17 University School and Human Services faculty
Andrea Lowery, Erin Doran, Lindsey Lester, Amy Weber (*Doctoral student, College of
Public Health), and Dr. Bill Garris received a College of Education Mini-Grant to
explore how technology influenced the social dynamics of collaborative group work
in the classroom. The findings were published in the May 2018 issue of the International Journal of Learning, Teaching, and Educational Research.
In short, the findings of "iCollaborate or Not" showed little difference between experimental and control groups, except on the variable
of role fulfillment. Social interactions were similar, but students did not always
stay on task when completing the task using technology.
