Dr. Frasier Publishes Article, Receives Presidential Grant-in-Aid

Dr. Amanda Frasier, University High School Instructor, recently published a new article
and also received a Presidential Grant-in-Aid.
Congratulations on the Publication
Dr. Amanda Slaten Frasier, Instructor at University School, has published a new article,
“Principal-Led State Evaluation Policy: Teacher Perceptions at Four High Schools”
in The Qualitative Report.
Dr. Frasier's study examined the following question: "Considering the legislative
efforts to remove control of evaluation from local figures, do teachers perceive school
principals as influencing the implementation of state-level evaluation policy and,
if so, in what ways?"

Dr. Amanda Frasier Receives Presidential Grant-in-Aid
Dr. Amanda Frasier, University School instructor, was awarded a Presidential Grant-in-Aid.
The financial resources made available through this grant will assist Dr. Frasier
in completing a Maintenance of Certificate (MOC) program through the National Board
of Professional Teaching Standards. Dr. Frasier is a National Board Certified Teacher
(NBCT) and through the MOC program she will retain this distinction for five more
years. As part of this professional development, Dr. Frasier will use this experience
to reflect on her discipline as a teacher at the University School and how she impacts
the lives of her students.
According to the Tennessee Department of Education’s website, “National Board Certified
Teachers are highly accomplished educators who meet high and rigorous standards. Like
board-certified doctors and accountants, teachers who achieve National Board Certification
have met these rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment,
and peer review. ”
