University Elementary School Student Spotlight - April 23, 2022
Elementary School Honoree – Avery Helm
Avery is intelligent! She is actively engaged throughout the day. Most importantly, she is there for others. She is kind to everyone she interacts with. She shows true attention to the people she is working with. She is receptive and lets others know that she’s their teammate.
Getting to know Avery Helm:
- If you could change one thing about our school what would it be? “Longer lunches...sometimes I don’t have enough time to eat all my lunch.”
- What about your family is unique? “We go camping in our travel trailer. We like to camp in Tennessee and North Carolina.”
- What is your biggest hope for the future? “I want to go to ETSU for college and study to become a teacher.”
“Avery is an excellent student to talk to and ask for help when you feel lost,” said
Mr. Hunter Oliver, Avery’s SEL teacher.
“She is kind and understanding. She knows how to remain calm and help those in need.
Her goodwill is contagious!”
