Middle School Honoree – Cooper Onks

Cooper's willingness to help and his very positive attitude are two of the reasons why he is a “Spotlight Student.”  He is a wonderful student and leader in the classroom. Cooper works hard during class and is always up for some academic competition and challenges. He often willingly helps other students who need encouragement and/or peer tutoring. Cooper maintains a positive attitude in and out of the classroom.

Getting to know Cooper Onks:

  • What is the most unusual thing that happened in your classroom this year? “A couple of unique things have happened because its Mrs. Ledbetter!  For example, once we almost organized a totally random day for everyone to wear Christmas clothes.”
  • If you could invite a famous person to dinner at your house, who would you invite? “Cristiano Ronaldo because I love soccer and he is my favorite player.  He also beats Messi.”
  • How do you plan to spend your summer break? “I will practice and play soccer.  Also, we are going to the beach and getting a new kitten.”

"Cooper's enthusiasm and love for learning is a great asset in our classroom. He displays leadership and kindness, and is encouraging to his peers. Cooper is a joy to have in class!" said Mrs. Chelsie Pratt, Cooper's 6th-grade Math and Science teacher.  Added Ms. Jennifer Ledbetter, Cooper’s ELA and Social Studies teacher: “Cooper is very driven and competitive, but he never lets that get in the way of helping someone out. He is always willing to lend a hand.”
