High School Honoree – Kierstin Teffeteller

Kierstin welcomed Darina Pupenko to our school with open arms. She befriended Darina and helped her despite the language barrier. Kierstin continues to assist Darina whenever possible and does her very best to bridge the communication gap using technology.

Getting to know Kierstin:

  • Which of Snow White’s seven dwarfs describes you the best? (Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, or Sneezy)?

“I’d say Sleepy…I am tired!”

  • Complete the sentence “I wish everyone could…”?

“…get straight A’s without studying.  I think if someone works hard, they deserve an A.”

  • If you were going to audition for America’s Got Talent, what talent would you use?

“I’d use painting.  I really enjoy creating art.”

“Kierstin is a thoughtful, compassionate, helpful student,” said Mr. Tadlock, Kierstin’s Biology teacher.  “When she saw Darina needing help, she didn’t wait to be asked, she simply took action to assist Darina as best as possible.  She continues to support Darina every day.  Kierstin has had a tremendously positive impact on our classroom culture through her actions.  The other students notice the encouraging example she sets.  I am proud of her for demonstrating such exceptional qualities we all admire!”
