Middle School Honoree – Avery Helm
Avery is kind and compassionate. She is a student that can be partnered with anyone in the classroom and will always treat her peers with gentleness and respect. She is encouraging to others and always willing to help. You will rarely find Avery without a smile on her face.
Getting to know Avery:
- What’s the most meaningful gift you have ever received?
“Probably an iPad. My family knew I really wanted one. I didn’t think I was going to get one. Several members of my family chipped in to get it for me. That really meant a lot to me.”
- Imagine you discover a beautiful island where you decide to build a new society. What is the first rule you put in place?
“The first thing I would do is build homes so that the people have shelter. The first rule would be no littering because its bad for the environment.”
- If you won a million dollars, what is the first thing you would buy?
“The first thing I would do is donate a portion of it to children who don’t have enough food. Secondly, I would renovate my room with new furniture, paint the walls, build a walk-in closet, and add a bathroom.”
" Avery is a friend to all in the classroom,” said Mrs. Chelsie Pratt, Avery’s 6th-grade math and science teacher. “She treats her peers with kindness and respect. Avery is a natural leader, a hard worker, and maintains a joyful personality.”
