The Bud Frank Cinema, established in 2023, is dedicated to bringing new and diverse film experiences to ETSU and the communities of East Tennessee. Through a focus on global arthouse cinema, we acknowledge that there are many film cultures, and entertainment is only one facet of the cinematic experience. With that in mind, we operate by the motto: all films, all times, all places. This means that we endeavor to provide access to all types of films, by all types of filmmakers, including narrative, documentary, experimental, and new media work, as well as films by women, minority, independent, and LGBTQ+ filmmakers. We also provide access to the history of cinema through silent cinema events and retrospectives. We are committed to building community around film for all audiences. All screenings are open to the public.
