Grauduate Programs
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics offers two different graduate degree programs. The M.S. of Mathematical Sciences curriculum is designed to emphasize pure mathematics, applied mathematics, or applied statistics. The M.S. of Applied Data Science is designed to train professionals who can manage and manipulate massive, potentially complex datasets; analyze their content; and effectively communicate these analyses’ results and significance to managers and other decision-making personnel.
Where Are They Now?
Patrick Donkoh received his MS in Math in 2025. He is now seeking a PhD in Statistics at George Mason University in fairfax, VA.
John Lagergren received his MS in Math in 2025. He is now a R&D Associate Staff Member for Oak Ridge National Lab in TN.
Tabitha McCoy Smith recieved her MS in Math in 2025. She is now a mathematics instructor at Southwest Virginia Community College in Cedar Bluff, VA.
