The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a flexible program of study leading to a master of science (M.S.) degree in mathematical sciences. After completing a core program of 12 hours, the student may select course work from a curriculum designed to emphasize classical mathematics, applied mathematics, applied statistics, actuarial mathematics, or mathematics education.

The department also offers an online graduate certificate:  Mathematical Modeling in Bioscience.  The certificate can be obtained in one year and provides additional qualifications for those seeking a career in industry such as a position in pharmaceutical R&D or biomedical analytics.
