"As an educator, few things are more rewarding than witnessing students achieve their academic goals and graduate from college. It represents the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice on the part of the students and their families. Seeing students walk across the stage, receive their diplomas, and move on to the next phase of their lives is a reminder of the transformative power of education and the impact that it can have on the lives of individuals and their communities."

Dr. Christel Young

Dr. Christel Young is an Assistant Professor of Computing & Director of Using Information Technology.  She hosted the Musical Code of Liberation coding camp at the Langston Center, where students were introduced to writing music using Python.  She also co-authored a book chapter entitled "Well-being as an Ecological Practice: Supporting Students Facing Housing Insecurity in Higher Education."  Dr. Young has also been selected to join the Campus Cohort of the Greater Good Science Center’s Bridging Differences in Higher Education Learning Fellowship.
