Olympus BX63 Microscope Information
The Olympus BX63 is an upright microscope that produces high-resolution brightfield and fluorescence images of properly fixed and mounted, histologically stained or fluorescently labeled tissues and cells.

Cameras and Imaging Software
Images are captured using:
- Hamamatsu ORCA-Flash 4.0 LT camera for fluorescence imaging
- Olympus DP74 camera for brightfield imaging
The system is operated using Olympus cellSens software, which provides:
- Customizable interface and controls
- Automated image acquisition
- Advanced image analysis tools
cellSens Dimension supports automated imaging and data processing.

Training Requirements
Training is provided by the core manager.
All users must complete training before using the microscope independently.

Reservations and Access
After completing training, users may coordinate with the core manager to schedule time on the microscope.
Users are encouraged to:
- Plan usage in advance
- Limit sessions to half-day increments when demand is high
- Communicate scheduling needs with the core

Usage Fees
There are no fees associated with using the Olympus BX63 microscope.
All ETSU students and staff may use the system after completing training.

Policies and Procedures
All users must follow these guidelines:
- Bring a personal storage device for saving data
- Data on workstation computers may be periodically removed
- Long-term data storage is not guaranteed
- No food or drink is allowed in the microscopy room

Publication Acknowledgement
Users are expected to acknowledge the Microscopy Core Facility in manuscripts and publications when data obtained from the facility is used.
