Masters International
The Peace Corps service will serve as the culminating experience for the Masters International (MI) MPH students, replacing the current “internship” or field placement. Students will stay continually enrolled in 1 credit hour of field placement throughout their Peace Corps service.
MI students will have two options for program completion. Option 1 requires students to complete 18 months of coursework and 27 months of Peace Corps service, which will fulfill the field placement component of the MPH degree. Option 1 requires 45 months to complete. Option 2 requires the student to complete 12 months of course work and 27 months of Peace Corps service. During the Peace Corps service, students would complete the remaining six months of coursework required for their degree program online and then complete the field placement. Students who choose Option 2 must be enrolled in one of the MPH concentrations that is offered online (Community and Behavioral Health, Epidemiology, or Health Services Management and Policy). Option two requires 39 months to complete.
Option 1 will ensure that all coursework is complete prior to Peace Corps Service.
