Middle School Cross Country Tryouts
Important XC Try-out Information Because of Covid-19, middle school cross country will be very different this year. The number of team members will be limited to 10 per team due to social distancing guidelines and TMSSAA guidance.
Try-outs will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 3:15. Students will need to remain in their car in the pick-up/drop-off line out front
of the school until a coach has checked them in for tryouts. We will check each student
in by checking student temperatures and conducting Covid-19 screenings (questions
required by TSSAA). Tryouts will be finished at 4:30. Please line up in the pick-up
line out front of the school.
Students will be asked to maintain social distancing and wear a mask while not running. They will need to bring their own water/drink, as the water fountains are not accessible.
An up to date physical and cardiac and concussion forms must be turned into the office before August 18. Students who do not have forms turned in will not be allowed to participate in try-outs. (More information/forms)
Important XC Season Information
We will try to practice two days a week, weather permitting. Practice days will be Tuesday and Thursday.
Practice time is 3:15-4:30. We will check in athletes by conducting temperature checks and Covid-19 screenings at every practice (same check in process as tryouts) and meet.
Pickup should be promptly at 4:30. Three late (later than 4:35) pickups will result in a meeting with the athletic director and possible dismissal from the team.
Runners will be given a workout schedule to complete at home on non-practice days.
