Student Senate

The Student Senate is the law-making body of the Student Government and is composed of Senators, elected in general elections by the student body of ETSU, or appointed in compliance with the SGA Constitution and Code of Laws.

Senators are the main line of communication between the student body and the Executive Branch. Senators hear concerns from their fellow students, write resolutions, bills, and acts, and serve on various SGA and University committees pertaining to all areas of ETSU operations.

Senators are elected in the spring semester to a one year term in the following academic year. Any vacant seats remaining after the general election are filled by Presidential appointment.

The Senate meets every other Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. beginning August 29, 2023. The first senate meeting of the fall 2023 term will be held in rooms 303/304, DP Culp. After that, all subsequent meetings will be held in the Forum, on the 3rd floor of the D.P. Culp Student Center. Please email sgavpfa@etsu.edu for more information.

SGA Committees meet every other Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. beginning September 5, 2023. Meetings are held in several locations (327, 217, 211, 219) on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the D.P. Culp Student center. Please email sgavpfa@etsu.edu for details.
