Mrs. Andrea Lowery
4th Grade Instructor
My name is Andrea Lowery and I will be your child’s teacher this year! I have been teaching for 9 years. This is my 6th year teaching 4th Grade. I have my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and my master’s degree in Special Education. I am currently working on my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
My husband and I have a little girl, Leona, attending kindergarten this year and a second little girl on the way. I am due November 1st and I plan to be out once the baby arrives through December. I will return in January. I will keep you updated on plans regarding the teacher that will take over during my maternity leave.
Today your child brought home a manila file folder with paper work in it. Please read through the information, fill out/sign the pages, and return it by Friday. I am also attaching the directions to sign up for the Bloomz app to this email. This app will allow us to communicate about your child and the 4th grade classroom. I am still learning how to take full advantage of the benefits of using the app but expect most communication from me to come through Bloomz once we have it up and running for everyone.
If I need to change or add and email addresses to our class distribution list please let me know. If you ever have any questions please feel free to send me an email or a message on the Bloomz app. Once I have a finalized schedule for our day I will be sending it out via email. I am very excited to work with your children this year!
Students are allowed to bring a daily, healthy snack to eat during recess. We do have a peanut/tree nut allergy as well as some other allergies in our class so please do not send food for other students. The only exception to that rule is when sending a birthday treat or class party items. Please let me know ahead of time if you plan to bring a birthday treat for your child so that I can have alternative treats on hand for students with allergies if necessary.
