What is Welltrack Boost?
Welltrack Boost is a self-guided, clinically supported digital mental wellness platform that offers students evidence-based tools and content grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness to assess, understand, and improve their behavioral health and wellness. Boost is available at https://etsu.welltrack-boost.com/ or via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
How can you access Welltrack Boost?
Welltrack Boost is available to all ETSU students and offers numerous services and tools for improved mental health and wellness. Follow the steps below to access these resources:

What services are offered through Welltrack Boost?
Boost offers many resources and services intended for students to use in order to take better care of their mental health and well-being. Boost and therapy aren’t competitors– they’re partners, and can bring about incredibly important changes in student's lives.

Video Series
Welltrack Boost’s video series are short, skills-based modules designed to help students navigate common mental health challenges. Each series focuses on a specific topic—like anxiety, depression, stress, or healthy relationships—and offers practical strategies grounded in CBT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. The goal is to equip students with accessible, actionable tools they can use immediately to support their well-being. Some individual series include:

Voice Series
Our Stories content is first hand narrative audio from peers or individuals with first hand experiences of overcoming a personal challenge with mental health, self-discovery, or personal growth. Each story is narrated by the person themselves and seeks to show listeners they are not alone in what they’re going through. Aside from the audio format there are written transcripts too. The Voice Series offered include:
- Allen: Story of bouncing back after losing a career
- Laurie: Story of breaking free of substance use
- Emili: Story of running towards authenticity in sexuality
- Brenda: Story of quitting smoking
- Haley: Story of overcoming an eating disorder
- Zenith: Story of completing a large project despite procrastination

Burning Questions
Burning Questions takes a different approach by having a licensed counselor responding to questions about a variety of wellness and mental health topics. Each question is its own audio, with a written transcript as well. Topics include:

- Healthy Relationships

Daily Series
Daily Series is written content that updates each day the user logs into the app. It’s designed to encourage reflection, curiosity and motivation to keep their mental well-being a part of their daily routine. Each day is different and can be reviewed and considered in under a minute.

Tools within the App
Different tools within Welltrack Boost that you may benefit greatly from include:
- Badges: You earn badges for various in app activities. If you complete a video series you earn a badge! The badge section provides a space to celebrate the effort they are putting into their mental well-being. Badges can be downloaded by the user to share or use as proof of completion if needed.
- Mood Check: Track your mood and understand how the things you do throughout the day affect the way you feel. MoodCheck can be set to notify you between 0-3 times per day to log your mood. Insights are offered on the homepage of the app. MoodCheck supports content in all Boost Courses.
- Zen Room: Practice changing your physical and emotional state through our customized relaxation room. Select your own ambiance sound and meditation type and stay for as long as you’d like. Find content that includes mindfulness meditations, affirmations, body scans, guided imagery, and more.
- My Action Plan: Build self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to manage mental health hurdles by making a plan ahead of time of how you will handle a challenge. Complete as much or as little as you want and have it with you ready to go in tough moments.
- Thought Diary: Identify real-life situations where you were using unhelpful thinking styles and learn how to build better thoughts in these types of situations. This structured approach helps unpack even complex thoughts. This tool corresponds to components of both the Anxiety and Depression Courses.
- Room for the Positive: Keep track of things you are proud of and things you are grateful for as often as you can to boost your resilience. All your responses are saved here to look back on during particularly challenging days. This practice is designed to be short and simple so it actually feels doable. This tool supports the Resilience Skills for Everyday Thriving Course.
- Activity Scheduler: Intentionally schedule pleasurable, social, and achievement activities to keep yourself accountable for change. Find them on your calendar anytime and receive in app reminder notifications. This tool can support anyone but can be particularly helpful with the Anxiety and Depression Courses.
- Thought Distortions Quiz: After viewing the Anxiety or Depression Course, go deeper into understanding thought distortions by taking this quiz. It can be taken as many times as you want.

Wellness Assessments
You know yourself better than anyone else. Personalize your Boost experience by taking a minute to identify your goals and reflect on how you’re doing with the Wellness Assessments. Test your overall level of well-being and make goals for taking action to improve it. Boost hosts a variety of assessments including:
- SWEMWBS: This is a shortened version of the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale which assesses and improves many aspects of mental health.
- DASS-21: Measures your level of depression, anxiety, and stress all in one assessment.
- GAD-7: Assess yourself for symptoms and identify your level of anxiety.
- PHQ-9: Assess yourself for depression symptoms and identify your level of depression.
- BRCS: Get a glimpse into how resilient you already are through this Resilience Scale.
- AUDIT: This assessment looks to identify patterns of excessive drinking that can cause potentially serious problems in your work, relationships, mental health, or even physical health.
- CRAFFT 2.1: Reflect on your use of alcohol and other substances through this quick screening questionnaire. Designed for young adults, it can help you spot patterns and whether they may be affecting your well-being.
