Can I participate in Group and Individual Therapy at the same time?
- Group therapy can be a sufficient way to address one’s concerns.
- The Counseling Center operates on a Stepped Care Model, which means providing you with different choices to address your needs.
- Group Therapy can be a great choice to either step down from individual therapy or step into the beginning of your wellness journey.

Is Group Therapy Confidential?
- Confidentiality is an important part of any group. Each group will formulate their own rules about privacy that is agreed upon by all members.
- Groups work best where there is open and honest communication between members.

What can I expect?
- A group consisting of 6-8 people lead by 1 or 2 Licensed Counselors
- A safe and respectful atmosphere
- Members to listen to each other and openly provide feedback that can lead to greater understanding of yourself.
- You control what and how much you disclose in the group.
- The more you become involved, the greater the benefits and chance for self growth are present.
- Listening to how other members have navigated through their struggles can instill hope and motivate you for change.

What else do I need to know?
- Groups can be a great way to start building a social circle of support
- Get the most out of group by being open and taking risks. Share what you normally wouldn't, try out a new way of expressing yourself, or ask for feedback from others.
- The work does not stop when group ends. Growth takes time. Use time in between group meetings to reflect and integrate things you have learned from group into your life and self.
