Justin PenleyWelcome to University School Physical Education!

Hello all:

It is my sincere hope that this message finds you all well.  Due to the ever-changing landscape as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, I wanted to share some resources related to Physical Education and staying active in general while practicing social distancing.  I hope you will find some benefit in the following information:

Keeping yourself and your family fit in the era of social distancing

US Department of Health & Human Services -- President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition

USDA's Choose My Plate -- Building Healthy Eating Habits

Online Physical Education Network: Tools For Creating an Active Home

How to Exercise at Home If You’re Avoiding the Gym During the COVID-19 Outbreak

8 tips for staying active during the COVID-19 pandemic

As I am sure you are aware, University School has moved to an online format (utilizing Canvas) for at least the first quarter of school in response to COVID-19.  All U-School classes, including Wellness and PE II/Strength & Conditioning, will be utilizing Canvas, an online Learning Management Software program. Please log in to your Canvas account for all assignments and other information.  Additionally, I hope the resources above provide some guidance and perhaps some ideas on staying active during this time of not being able to attend school and Physical Education classes in person.  Best wishes to you all, hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Best regards,

Coach Penley
