Scholarship in the Division of Endocrinology
The Endocrinology Division is active in both clinical research and basic molecular mechanisms of disease. The NIH NIDDK has supported studies of exercise training as a preventative measure in persons at high risk for type 2 diabetes. Participant is the research endeavors of the Division include residents in Internal Medicine and graduate students in Biomedical Sciences, Exercise Science, and Nutrition. Undergraduate students and pre-doctoral medical students are regularly involved in these projects. The research focus of the Endocrine faculty is on insulin resistance and diabetes prevention.
