Rakesh Patel, MD, MBA is Assistant Professor of Medicine at East Tennessee State Universitys Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the Medical University of Lublin in Poland, and continued his medical training at East Tennessee State University. There, he completed residencies both in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Patel earned his MBA from Milligan College in Milligan, Tennessee.

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, Dr. Patel serves as an attending physician at the Mountain States Health Alliance in Johnson City and the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tennessee.

Dr. Patel has been involved with several clinical trials, and his research results have been published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American College of Physician Executives.
