The Wayne G. Basler Center for Physical Activity (CPA) is a 120,000 square foot facility that was built by, and currently operates on, student activity fees and is staffed by ETSU student workers. Opened as the Center for Physical Activity in April 2002, the building was later renamed for Mr. Basler in October 2006. Mr. Basler has been a generous contributor to the ETSU as well as the Campus Recreation program over the years. The Basler Challenge Course located adjacent to the CPA was made possible by a donation from Mr. Basler.

In 2011 plans were made for an expansion of the CPA and in August 2013 the project was completed.  The CPA expansion includes a volleyball/indoor soccer/basketball court, a martial arts studio, a yoga studio, a change room, an extra 4,000 square foot area for the weight room, and a cycling studio.

Casual Care Services

Casual Care is currently Closed

Parent/Guardian Information:

Please note: due to sweeping changes in the Casual Care policies and procedures, if your child has not been to Casual Care since January 1st, 2019 you will need to make an appointment with the Coordinator, Nani Hilbert, to fill out new paperwork and review all the changes in person.  Only then, will your child be able to access Casual Care services.

If you are a parent whose child HAS been here since January 1st, 2019 and are just adding a sibling onto the Casual Care roster, you DO NOT need to meet with the Coordinator. You just need to request an additional child information sheet to fill out for the sibling.

You may contact Nani by email or phone 423-439-7983.
