Motion (Epps for Exec): I move to approve the revisions to the by-laws, section 4.5, Faculty Senate Selection of the Faculty Representative to the ETSU Board of Trustees.
Justification: The two year term of the faculty representative to the ETSU BOR expires in April. The election cycle needs to be adjusted in order to elect the faculty rep prior to the April meeting of the BOT in the year in which the faculty member's term expires.

Motion (McGarry): I move that the Senate issue a letter of concern on the model of the letter attached (DRAFT letter of concern - listed with March 12 agenda).
Justification: The dissolution of the Classroom Utilization Committee is troubling because it is
now unclear how faculty will influence control of classroom space, and on a more general
level, the process whereby it was dissolved indicates a disturbing lack of transparency
and disregard of shared governance principles. A response on our part is called for
to show that these principles are important to us.

charged to review ETSU's requirement for students' assessment of faculty and courses and the Workgroup

Motion (Drinkard-Hawkshawe): A Faculty Senate committee should be organized to review the Student Grade Appeal process. A group meeting - student, faculty, Chair- should be required before a student can appeal a grade. Failed

Justification: To enable senators to get feedback and input from their constituents before voting. Passed
