Office of Human Resources

East Tennessee State University

Annual Service Awards

The Annual Service Awards Breakfast, hosted by the Office of Human Resources, was held on April 10, 2018. Recognized for their milestone years of service in 2017 were 381 faculty and staff members who have provided 5,350 total years of service to the University and the State of Tennessee. Dr. Brian Noland, 9th president of ETSU, expressed appreciation to the employees for their commitment and dedication to their departments and the University. Dr. Noland stated that ETSU was founded with a singular purpose, to improve the quality of life for the people of this region. He remarked that each employee of the University has touched the lives of students and colleagues in some way and that each person attending the breakfast had contributed to the “footprint” of ETSU, and that footprint is making a positive change in the region.

April Featured Employee - Wanda Young, Coordinator, Medical Education, Psychiatry

Wanda is one of the hardest working people I have met. She has done a superb job in her position with Psychiatry Medical Student Education for many years, readily keeping up with the ever-changing administrative and educational requirements. She is always ready to help others, whether new hires in the department or long-standing colleagues and friends. Her generosity for others in our community is remarkable as she often puts the needs of others ahead of her own. And she does all of this with a ready smile. Wanda is the type of person we need as the face of ETSU and she is truly deserving of this recognition. -  Dr. Shambhavi Chandraiah, Psychiatry Residency Training Director and Outpatient Director
