Registration for Spring 2022 Niswonger Online Courses is now OPEN!: Counseling Grade 12- Class of 2022
Please use the link to the Google Form below to register for online Niswonger Courses for Spring 2022.
There is a link within the Google form that will take you to a University School secure payment site. Each Niswonger course is $125.
If you need additional information about your eligibility to take a Niswonger course, or if you need advice on which courses you could take, please contact Dr. Shaw at shawa@etsu.edu or stop in to the Counseling Office.

Spring Dual-Enrollment Registration Opened
It is time to register for Spring Dual Enrollment classes at ETSU is open for eligible students!
Registration:
- You must turn in a dual enrollment authorization form before you can register on Nov 5.
- Registration in Goldlink starts Nov 5. If you want a specific class, we strongly encourage you to register early.
- All forms need to be submitted by Oct. 31 in order to register on Nov. 5.
Grant:
- The TSAC grant has changed and will now pay for classes #3 and #4 starting this spring, based on 3 credit hour classes. You must qualify for the TSAC Dual Enrollment grant. Four credit hour classes may have additional charges.
- ETSU Scholarship for students on classes #5-#10. This scholarship is awarded to students with high school GPA of 3.4 or higher. The scholarship allows one class per semester to cost $75 with the scholarship amount added to the grant amount.

Good news! ETSU has decided to allow a test score waiver for students with a 3.4 or higher GPA. This waiver applies to students without ACT/PRE-ACT scores or students with ineligible test scores. This waiver is valid for fall 2021 and spring 2022.
The waiver document and a list of allowable courses for students using the waiver option can be found below
- Please submit your DE forms plus the waiver document to Dr. Shaw if it will apply to you.
- Students with a 3.0 to 3.39 GPA and INELIGIBLE TEST SCORES will be required to take the Accuplacer exam for dual enrollment admission to ETSU. They will need to take this exam for admission and not just placement.

ETSU Dual Enrollment for Fall 2021
Eligibility: 3.0 cumulative GPA and 19 on PACT or ACT Composite and all subscores
If you do not have a test score, ETSU plans to offer an alternate route for admission that will include placement testing and advisement. Please contact Dr. Shaw for additional paperwork if needed. Students who were admitted with a waiver in the spring may be required to take the ACCUPLACER and/or be required to attend advisement.

- Wait for your GoldLink hold to be cleared and register online.Your hold cannot be cleared until all of the above steps have been completed and processed. Send a copy of your concise student schedule toshawa@etsu.eduordaya@etsu.edu. DUE April 30.

- Apply for the Dual Enrollment Grant online here https://www.tn.gov/collegepays/money-for-college/tn-education-lottery-programs/dual-enrollment-grant.html (not available to 9th & 10th grade) (students of ETSU & State employees should see their HR office for discount forms).
- Apply for admission to ETSU online under Start Your Application. Be sure to choose “Dual Enrollment” as your student status in order to avoid having to pay an admission fee. It will be the first choice on the application. https://www.etsu.edu/admissions/apply/dual/
- You will receive a letter via email and/or regular mail that prompts you to create a GoldLink account and register. Please be watching closely for the letter. Once you have created your account, I can help you complete your registration. Registration DUE April 30.
NORTHEAST STATE DE FOR Fall 2021
Eligibility Requirements: Students must have an 18 in English and a 19 in Reading on the ACT to enroll in most general education courses and at least a 19 in Math for math and science courses. Students who have taken the SAT must score a 490 in Writing and 500 in Reading and Math. Students who have not taken the ACT or SAT must successfully pass the ACCUPLACER placement test, which is an untimed placement test given at Northeast State
Students May Be Admitted Without Test Scores By Meeting the Following Requirements:
3.6 cumulative GPA unweighted in the absence of test scores.

Niswonger Foundation awards Textbook Scholarship Money: University School students would like to extend their appreciation to the Niswonger Foundation for the scholarship money provided to purchase textbooks for dual enrollment students.
